About Volunteering activity

1. Increasing water storage capacity of the ‘water-scarce’ village through de-silting of the bund (CNB).
Here are some guidelines that will help you plan your visit better.
1.    Please reach Virar railway station by 1 pm on 19th May 2018. We have arranged for the transportation.
2.    For those who are reaching Pathardi Village on their own, location on Google Map will be shared later.
3.    Basic, modest, clean stay has been arranged for a nights (19th May). We request you to keep the rural settings in mind and co-operate with the organisers.
4.    Breakfast, lunch will be served in the village and will be prepared by the local people.
5.    Only vegetarian food will be provided. We request you to avoid carrying any non-veg food along with you. Alcohol, cigarette and substance consumption is strictly prohibited.
6.    Please adhere to the time schedules to avoid any inconvenience for others and to ensure completion of planned activities.
7.    You are advised to wear light cotton clothes, cap and sports shoes keeping in mind the climatic conditions (temperatures ~37 Degrees Celsius at mid-day), terrain and activities.
8.    Since this is water scarce region, we request you to carry your own 1 litre of water bottle (per person) and use this to refill at the volunteering centre. Use every drop of water carefully.
9.    Please carry basic necessities like odomos, sunscreen, wet tissues, sanitizer, specific medicines, etc. along with you.
10.  Please throw the waste only in the garbage bags provided to you by the Organisers and contribute to keeping the village and volunteering place clean and healthy.
11.   Please do not pick fruits and vegetables from the farms and orchards. The tribal families are dependent on it for their survival or that is the source of their livelihood.
12.   If you wish to donate old books, toys and clothes for tribal children that are in good condition, please inform through registration form.
13.  Participants will leave Pathardi with an appreciation letter and memories to cherish.
We do not envisage this event as a one-time activity. We will be happy if participants could develop bond with the villagers and return whenever possible for engaging meaningfully with the villagers. Call as many like-minded people who wish to partner in impacting lives.
We hope you will have a wonderful experience during your stay. Do not forget to share your experiences with us after the event.
